Spotify is launching an innovative feature that enables users to follow their favorite venues, allowing them to stay updated on upcoming concerts and events.
Once you follow a venue, it will be stored in your library, where you can easily access event calendars, details on scheduled concerts, and important announcements. Additionally, users have the option to filter upcoming shows by genre, making it simpler to find the music they love.
In a bid to enhance user experience, Spotify is now refreshing its live event feed on a daily basis rather than weekly. This change ensures that fans receive the most current information about events.

Users can easily tap on the upcoming shows to purchase tickets through the associated ticketing partner. In 2022, Spotify explored the concept of selling tickets directly, but has since shifted its focus to partnerships with major ticketing platforms like Live Nation and Ticketmaster, enabling fans to buy tickets directly from an artist’s page.
Earlier this year, Spotify introduced a new weekly playlist titled “Concerts Near You,” featuring 30 tracks from artists performing near users’ locations, along with information about their upcoming shows.
Spotify’s competitors are also placing emphasis on enhancing the live event discovery experience across their platforms. For instance, in February, SoundCloud teamed up with Ticketmaster and Live Nation to allow artists to list their upcoming shows directly on their pages.
